Odinga Adiwu is a producer and presenter with the Plateau Radio Television Corporation (PRTVC) and a peace practitioner and consultant on peace messaging and advocacy. She appears on both radio and TV.
She notes that covering faith and religion as a broadcast journalist is especially important in Nigeria because it fights misinformation and builds mutual respect, helps journalists scrutinize religious leaders’ statements and actions, thereby holding them accountable, and safeguards the fundamental human right of freedom of religion. It is important in Nigeria or anywhere in the world to provide informative media coverage of faith and religion in order to promote understanding and unity across countries and across the continents.
Odinga reports in both English and Hausa languages.
Nigeria is a multicultural and multi religious country with significant Christian and Muslim worshipers in addition to indigenous religion or African traditional religion. Impartial representation and coverage fosters unity and builds peace.
