Journalist Jelena Jorgačević in the studio

From the Board Chair:

We would like to thank you, as colleagues reporting on religion, for your commitment in these turbulent geopolitical times, in which religion plays an important and complex role. By resisting sensationalist practices, defending the public from misinformation, and working in the public interest, you continue to uphold the highest standards of journalism.

Over the past months, as you may have noticed, we have been working to make our Association’s website more content-rich. In this context, we encourage you to send us the links to religion and faith pieces you have published and to pieces including a religion angle you come across. We will be glad to share them in our network, through the IARJ website and social media, so that examples of high-quality journalistic practice can gain wider visibility.

We would also like to inform you that the fifth edition of the “Piazza Grande” Religion Journalism Award, will be announced shortly on the IARJ website and we encourage you to submit your work. The award was launched to encourage best practices in journalism and to honour the work of journalists covering faith, religion and spirituality across Europe and the Mediterranean basin.

Finally, we invite you to follow our new series of online roundables on religion, where journalists share the challenges they face in reporting on religion diversity around the world. We hope you will take the time to watch and engage with these conversations we are holding in partnership with RNA-Religion News Association. We also hope that, in the future, some of you may join us as speakers, and we warmly welcome your ideas and suggestions for topics you believe deserve attention.

All IARJ-RNA Dialogues will be available on the IARJ YouTube Channel. Watch the first HERE

We look forward to reading your stories on faith and religion.

With our warmest regards,

Jelena Jorgačević
