Mid-career journalists from all over the world who have a minimum of five years’ journalistic experience can apply for the Journalist Fellowship Programme at the Reuters Institute, with the support of the Thomson Reuters Foundation.

Applications are open for the fellowships beginning in October 2026, January 2027 or April 2027.

To complete your application you will need to send a motivation statement, two references, and a short CV profiling your work and your education history. You will also need to outline a project you’ll be working on during your time in Oxford. 

Journalists joining us in Oxford will further their understanding of journalism through seminars, networking events, discussions with peers and working on a personal project. 

The Fellowship covers programme fees, a modest living allowance of £2,000 per month and return travel expenses to the UK.
