Applications are open for the the Latin America Journalism Institute, to be hosted by the Media Project in Lima, Peru, September 2-4, 2026.

The three-day gathering will bring together 20 selected journalists from Peru and across Latin America for training and collaboration on religion reporting and public life.

Participants will explore press freedom, the growth of Protestant Christianity, faith’s influence on politics and recent elections and how Pope Leo XIV’s ties to Peru are shaping religious coverage.

Las solicitudes están abiertas para el Instituto de Periodismo de América Latina, que será organizado por el Media Project en Lima, Perú, del 2 al 4 de septiembre de 2026.

Este encuentro de tres días reunirá a 20 periodistas seleccionados de Perú y de toda Latinoamérica para recibir capacitación y colaborar en la cobertura de temas religiosos y la vida pública.

Los participantes explorarán la libertad de prensa, el crecimiento del cristianismo protestante, la influencia de la fe en la política y las elecciones recientes, y cómo los vínculos del Papa León XIV con Perú están influyendo en la cobertura de temas religiosos.
