Journalists, especially those who report on religion, have an important contribution to make here. They have an opportunity to bring greater clarity to the way we view religion, but with it comes a responsibility to be trustworthy and sincere. I am happy to see that the International Association of Religion Journalists acknowledge this with their emphasis on the importance of accurate, balanced, and ethical coverage of religion to foster understanding, harmony and respect among the major religious traditions.

Tenzin Gyatso, the 14th Dalai Lama
